A running start

Ramadan is less than a month away (and I’m still making up fasts from last year!) and the Goucher summer residency is roughly six weeks away.  Last year I tried really hard to plan out how I would fast and survive the residency, and I ended up fasting for only one day while I was at Goucher.  This year I just can’t do that.  It will be the last 10 days of Ramadan (meaning I’ll be on campus for the eid) and I can’t justify missing all those days.  I’ve already asked the residency coordinator for a private room so that I don’t annoy my roommate when I get up at like 4 am and she doesn’t annoy me when I go to bed at like 9 pm.  She was able to arrange that, thank God. I won’t be fasting while traveling there, however, so I will miss some time.  Suffice it to say that I will be keeping an anonymous journal and/or blog while traveling. Advertisements
